In a coordinated crackdown, American and Italian authorities arrested 25 men in Sicily, New York, North Carolina and Florida on Wednesday and charged them with taking part in a range of criminal activities under the umbrellas of the Gambino crime family in the United States and the Santa Maria di Gesù family in Sicily.

As Russian President Dmitri Medvedev wound up a three-day state visit to Paris on Wednesday, he had to be pleased with the results.
